Armenian Genocide/Anzac Commemoration

On Wednesday 30th April, two solemn and inextricably linked occasions were marked by assemblies. The morning ceremony commemorated the Armenian Genocide through readings by students, a film clip of the commemoration as commemorated in Armenia and another clip of an Armenian-American rap artist that wrote a rap about the Genocide.
Father Navasardyan's message reminded students how their grandparents died for them and they had an obligation to preserve their identity and culture.
The afternoon assembly commemorated Anzac Day and again we were reminded through poems, a bible reading and archival footage of the Anzacs as well as present-day heroes, of the spoils of war. Lest we forget.....
